The Martian (cont)

Next Tuesday, the 7th, “The Martian Extended Edition” is scheduled to be released.  Today a deleted scene from the extended version was released and I really wish it was left in the theatrical version.  Weir ends the story eloquently with Watney postulating why so many people would come together, at such a great cost to “save one dorky botanist.”  The voice over in this deleted scene is an abbreviated version of how the book ends. The movie takes it a step further and shows a healthy-looking Watney back on Earth as an instructor for aspiring astronauts while sprinkling images of his crew mates in a where-are-they-now kind of montage.  I prefer the book ending, but I’m curious what other scenes were cut from the theatrical version.
